Ed travelled to Cambridge on 9th December to speak at the Cambridge Jewish Residents Association.
A packed audience was hosted by Lady Alan Fersht. The Association was the first Jewish organisation in Cambridge and founded originally to organise Jewish burial. These days it is a cross communal group supporting welfare and other aspects of Jewish life in the area. Association members also support the students synagogue in Thompson’s Lane, which could see an exciting redevelopment once plans have been considered.
Beth Shalom is the modern synagogue of the Cambridge Reform community, opened in 2015. Ed visited the following day to witness 120 year 5 pupils from Peterborough being given an introduction to Judaism by volunteers of Beth Shalom.
