700 years ago a Spanish Jewish mystic named Moshe DeLeon began writing down a collection of teachings and tales that have never been seen or heard of before.
Sefer ha-Zohar, the Zohar (The Book of Radiance) has amazed and overwhelmed readers for seven centuries. The Zohar is the major text of Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical tradition. Its language is a peculiar brand of Aramaic that breaks the rules of grammar and even invents words.
In our latest podcast, Jonathan Davies presents an introduction to the history of this book, how it came about, and insights into its key themes and symbolism.
