formerly known as Dundee Hebrew Congregation
Address: 9 St Mary’s Place, Dundee DD1 5RB (opened 1978)
Our members live across Tayside and Fife for a variety of reasons, including professional, lifestyle and family choices. We aim to provide them with a communal Jewish identity and a central meeting point for Jewish holidays, celebrations, Shabbat services and cultural activities in an environment which brings all the Judaic denominations together.
Former Address: 15 Meadow Street, Dundee
Previously 132 Murraygate Street, and 62 Murraygate Street, Dundee (1895 to 1920)
School Visits
About three times a year, we set aside a day for school visits, and two of us run a programme.
We take children in groups, typically a school class, sometimes a whole village school. Half the group goes in the shul, talking about what they see, and second half of the group gathers in the communal area, talking about home, festivals, etc.
After 30 minutes we swap.
During a day we take sessions from:-
9.30-10.30
10.45-11.45
12-1.00
1.40-2.40
That means that during a day we can see and talk to eight groups, typically 180-240 children, without causing problems from crossing school parties or pushing anyone into a group where they don’t know others in the class.
Status: Active
Date Founded: 1874

Hi,
I’m not sure if your site is still operational, but at this time (28/09/2024) of great fear and uncertainty among Jewish communities, I just wanted to extend my love and prayers toward you.
Chag Succot Sameach! I’m Gail Norrie, a member of Knesset Menorah (South Chesher Reform congregatio) I lived and worked in Manchester for forty years and am back in Dundee. I’m a member of the League of Jewish women. I haven’t been able to find any other members or a Reform shul in Dundee, and wondered if there are others living in Dundee? Now I’m retired I’m also looking to do voluntary work for the League. I was Headteacher of a special school and have wide experience of A.S.C. and SEMHI,with an up to date online DBS.
good morning from sunny Norfolk England I hope you are all keeping well I have been up since about five this morning. My mother was brought up in fife and lived on a farm there at east weymess on the shore of the river forth. I have about 18 cousins who all live in fife apart from three. I used to live in Dundee. My Brother is Doctor Albert Jacob, who lives in Beersheva, Israel. I cannot get in touch with him. Please can somebody tell me what his email is? My email is Rolle1935@Outlook.com
Thank you.

I’m Secretary of Broughty Ferry in Bloom and will be working with a group of pupils at Grove Academy to renovate a small Holocaust memorial garden. I would appreciate it if someone could contact me to confirm that we are getting things right.
We don’t hold many services – typically it’s one a month. The next services at Dundee will be Kol Nidrei, Tuesday 22nd at 6.50, and Yom Kippur Shaharit, Wednesday 23rd 11.30 am. Everyone is welcome.
You can get details of later services and events as they’re arranged by joining our mailing list at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/jewsdundee/info .
