We are a small society on the Island with about 30 members, not affiliated to any particular Jewish organisation, but best described as ‘Progressive’ (ie not Orthodox).
We meet for the major Jewish Festivals (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Passover, Sukkot (Tabernacles), Chanukah (Festival of Lights), and also for Holocaust Memorial Day. New Year for Trees.
Throughout the year, we also have Friday Night and Sabbath services about every 6 weeks.
Some of our Services are led by visiting Rabbis.
There is no Synagogue on the Island, therefore we tend to meet at different venues.
We participate in ‘Shabbat UK’ with Services, a communal meal and Challah Bake.
There are several social events through the year as well.
