The Reading Liberal Jewish Community was founded over 40 years ago (originally named Thames Valley Progressive Jewish Community). Although based in Reading we serve Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and South Oxfordshire. We have strong links with The Liberal Jewish Synagogue (St John’s Wood, London) and the Reform synagogue in Maidenhead.
We hold two shabbat services a month, the main one led by our Rabbi, celebrate the festivals, and meet for other social events. Our cheder is well attended and our members are constantly engaging with other local Jewish communities for learning, social and spiritual activities.
