Rabbi: PLJC is a small community and does not have the support of a full-time rabbi, but enjoys the services of several student rabbis and ba'al tefillah, with occasional visits by Progressive rabbis.

We are proud to be part of the Movement for Progressive Judaism, with men and women taking equal roles in all aspects of the community. We are inclusive and welcome all Jews and non-Jewish spouses, partners and children.
The Peterborough Liberal Jewish Community was formed in 1991. Its membership is drawn from a variety of locations within about 30 miles of Peterborough, including Spalding, Stamford, Huntingdon, Ely, Oundle and Corby. We do not have our own premises, but hold regular services at various locations within the Greater Peterborough area.
In addition to our regular Shabbat services, we hold additional services for the main Festivals including the High Holy Days, as well as a communal seder and a Chanukkah-themed event.
We welcome enquiries from those of the Jewish faith, or wishing to know more about it (perhaps with a view to joining the Jewish people). We may be able to help with transport where there are particular problems.
Waitrose store in Peterborough stocks a range of kosher foods, including both ambient goods (eg, matzot and wine) and chilled products (eg, chopped herrings, chopped liver, packed meats, fish balls and viennas) in their chilled section. Challah is available in the bakery section.
