JSCN adds to Holocaust Memorial consultation

The UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation, is currently undertaking consultations on proposed plans for the Holocaust Memorial and visitor centre, which is expected to be created in London adjacent to the Houses of Parliament, in Victoria Tower Gardens.

JSCN co-ordinator Ed Horwich was invited to take part in the consultation process held at Manchester Town Hall on 5th April, along with survivors, second generation, and other organisations and technical experts working in the field.

Shortlisted architectural firms came from an international competitive entry organised by the Commission.
The proposed designs that we examined are not intended to be the final designs, but rather concepts to establish the potential winner’s ideas and capabilities.

The process involved looking at proposals from a shortlist of architects, giving our views on the designs and adding feedback about our thoughts on the general nature of any proposed memorial.

The final selection will take place in Summer 2017.
