Reflections on our first History Festival

From 15th to 25th March 2021 / 16 Nisan 5781

Over 370 people registered and took part in the Connecting Small Histories History Festival.

Across 12 sessions, academics, storytellers, authors, communities, project teams and volunteers presented their research to the History Festival audiences.

Highlights included lively discussions, new connections, and the opportunity to highlight the fascinating research of everyone involved in the Connecting Small Histories project.

Feedback has already been pouring in:

‘I found it fascinating and I'm so glad to havebooked annual leave to learn and take part.’

‘Really great talk tonight. I’ve zoomed in from Dubai.’

‘The whole festival concept and combining amateurs with academics is something we might do in South Africa. It’s a great support for historical preservation activists.’

‘I've loved hearing different stories from around the country, and the connections outside of presentations, or prompted by the presentations.’
