St Annes first Holocaust Memorial Day

St Annes Hebrew Congregation will have the honour of commemorating the next Holocaust Memorial Day at 11:00 a.m. on Friday 27th January 2017 at The Synagogue, Orchard Road, St Annes, FY8 1PJ.

The key speaker will be Arik Hersh, himself a holocaust survivor and a renowned and accomplished speaker.

Arek was born and brought up in Poland, in a tight-knit, loving Jewish family. On 1 September 1939 the Germany army attacked Poland. Arek’s family had to leave their home town and stay with relatives in Lodz. They walked there in a 65-km  journey that took them three days.

This will be an Interfaith service, expected to last one hour and pupils from schools across the Fylde will be participating together with addresses by Faith leaders, music and images.

I very much hope that you will support this important event.
