Students from Leo Baeck College are reaching out and visiting more Reform communities.
Sheffield & District Reform have recently benefitted from two such visits.
Student Rabbi Anna Posner visited on 10th September to lead a Shabbat morning service and a study group on ‘Deuteronomy – a summary of everything’, a fascinating session that looked at why Deuteronomy is so different from all the other books of the Torah. Anna will be back in Sheffield again for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur this year to lead services and run some more study sessions.
Meanwhile student Rabbi – Naomi Goldman visited Sheffield on 23rd/24th September to lead an Oneg Shabbat. The following day Naomi led a Shiur (Study session) on the Selichot about approaches to forgiving and forgiveness called ‘BE GENTLE AS THE REED: FORGIVING OTHERS, FORGIVING OURSELVES’.
Naomi is linked to Sheffield Reform for this coming year, so we look forward to welcoming her back for some other weekends in the near future, running other services and activities.
