Normally we signpost schools & groups to a suitable local community for synagogue visits and talks about Judaism, but over the Yom Tavim we organised one directly for a Catholic school in Lancashire.
Catholic schools teach Judaism as the second religion studied alongside Christianity at GCSE level. However they start early and asked if someone could visit the school to talk about Shabbat to a class of 6-7 yr olds.
We were able to arrange for a visit during Chol Hamoed, in the middle of Succot.
“The visit was fantastic thank you. Mike and Helena were brilliant and the children loved what they heard, saw and tasted. It really helped to embed their learning. The children will certainly remember the visit for a long time.” – Ruth (class teacher)
